Special Living Desert Zoo Trip

My friend and I decided to head out to the Living Desert Zoo before it gets too hot this summer. We met at the zoo and went the opposite way I usually go. It was awesome because it gave me a new perspective.

My friend heard that there was gonna be a special interaction with an animal at the animal hospital so we made our way there first. On the way, we got to see a keeper explain and interact with some birds. When we got to the hospital we got to meet a 10 year old tegu lizard. Her name was Dory. She showed us some cool tricks and we watched her sun bathe.

There was a couple school groups going around the park. While we were walking around, we saw another keeper take a hawk out and show us some tricks. I even got a cool slow motion video of it flying and landing on his arm. He told us it was a Harris hawk.

We even got to see baby peccaries!! They were all over their momma and then all laid down in a row to take a little nap. It was the most precious thing to see!

We caught up with each other the whole way through the park. We had a lot to tell each other! We got lunch at the Thorn Tree Grill. We spent way more time there than we thought we would, but it was so fun!
