The Creative Process
For the first time in way too long, Mom and I attended church at Center for Spiritual Living Beaumont. Reverend Neil gave a talk about the creative process and how to change our lives. He walked us through the steps on how we got where we are now and how to get to where we want to be. While that sounds like it would be a very difficult, complicated and a long journey; it doesn’t have to be.
Be Grateful for the Now
I recently ran across a new Instagram trend that states, “Sometimes you are so focused on the future, that you don’t realize you are in the middle of exactly what you used to pray for.” It kind of stopped me in my tracks, well my scrolling. Like many of you, I am my most harsh critic. I can do ten things perfectly, but dwell on the one thing that wasn’t perfect.
Reminder to be Grateful for the Basics
It was a big lesson for me to be grateful for what I usually take for granted. I have great eye sight and I am so grateful for that. I am grateful for my body fighting as hard as it could. I am grateful for my body using the steroids and antibiotics as it needed to heal itself.
Choosing to Focus on the Good
Well, when I got home my Mom figured I would want to keep up that momentum and planned something fun the first day I was home. My Mom was tired and didn’t want to go out, but she did it for me. I was surprisingly awake that first morning, but I didn’t really want to go out and sit in a car for hours like I had been doing while on vacation. In fact, my back was actively hurting from sitting in the car so much.
However, both of us picked something about the outing to look forward to, instead of just being sorry for ourselves.
Point and Call
I recently learned about a method used in Japan to encourage brain stimulation regarding safety. It’s called point and call.
