The Story Behind Sunshine Grows Here
Writing gratitudes is a common practice whether it be for self love, therapy, spiritual work, etc. It does not matter why you take note of your gratitudes, only that you do.
Becoming aware of your gratitudes has so many benefits.
Writing my gratitudes almost immediately puts me in a better, more positive mood. This single practice has caused me to be more aware and even search for reasons to be grateful for during the day.
While participating in a spiritual study group, we were asked to pick something that we would nurture and commit to doing for our personal growth. My Mom chose to journal her gratitudes daily and share them with the host of the group. They continue to email their blessings daily.
Feeling inspired, I journaled my gratitudes daily too. As many best intentions go, I eventually stopped. I continued to take classes and read books which kept me growing. However, as I continued to take classes with other people I realized, from their sharing, that the key to being my most true, authentic, happy self is in a daily practice.
A daily practice does not have to be long and drawn out or done at the same time every day. Just so long as it is done in some way or another each day.
The people I have surrounded myself with have always complimented my writing and the way in which I articulate my realizations and gratitudes. So, I have decided to share with anyone who finds meaning in my words.
