Scalp Treatment
The last time I got a haircut my stylist said he was getting in product to do a scalp treatment and offered me one. In this dry fall weather, my skin definitely needs some extra care including my scalp.
Today, I went in for my first ever scalp treatment. It was so lovely having my scalp massaged and the warm water on my head while my hair was being washed, especially since I wasn’t doing any of the work. After the treatment was completed, he styled my hair which always looks so nice.
I am learning more and more how important self care is for my well-being. I am trying to incorporate more self care into my daily life. Sometimes I’m great at it and other times not so much. But all that matters is that I’m making progress.
Self care does not have to mean getting massages or a hair appointment. Self care is paying attention to what your body needs or wants and then letting yourself have it. Self care is taking an extra long shower or bath, or taking the time to actually moisturize. Self care is noticing when you’re full while you’re eating or drinking and stopping before it feels like you’re bursting. Self care is realizing you’re getting body aches more often than normal and taking the time to do some movements like yoga, stretching, walking or something else to keep your body happy.
Self care not only cares for your body, but your mind too. The scalp treatment I treated myself to today not only made my body feel good, but I feel beautiful, relaxed and worthy to name a few.
I am full of gratitude for the activities my body is capable of because I take care of it. I am grateful that I have the means and opportunity to treat myself to things like a scalp treatment.
