Sunday Wildflower Drive
Mom and I decided on a whim to take a Sunday drive. We went up our local mountain to see the snow that had just fallen from the big storms. It was gorgeous to look at from the valley so being in the mountain was stunning.
We stopped at a small cafe for brunch. On each table there was a stack of fact cards. We enjoyed asking each other questions and learning random things from the cards.
After brunch, we continued our drive into the mountain town. We didn’t feel like shopping, so we drove around the town. The snow on the houses looked so amazing! I always love looking at the architecture of destination homes like beaches and mountain towns. When we were finished doing that we decided to head down the mountain a different way.
Going down the mountain we stopped at the casino we were passing. Mom had never been there so she got to check it out. Then, we continued down the highway. We turned into a campground and got to drive around looking at everything it offered. It was so pretty and we discussed going there for a local vacation getaway.
While we were driving down the road and a pop of orange jumped out at me. I made Mom make a U-turn. When we pulled up it was a beautiful patch of orange and yellow flowers. It was just stunning.
My brother found out where we were and met up with us at a tack store. It was so nice catching up and knowing that he was looking for us to hang out.
It was such a lovely Sunday drive. I am so grateful for wonderful family.
