2023 Budget Spreadsheet

This morning I woke up bright and early! I laid in bed unable to move. There was three kitties and a Weiner dog laying on or next to me, trapping me. It is wonderful to feel so wanted first thing in the morning. I gave kisses and pets to each animal. Then, proceeded to move everyone so I could get up and start my day.

Preparing for the new year; I am attempting to wake up and get all my work done so I can choose to do whatever I want the rest of the day while still being productive. I purchased a planner so I can keep track of how everything is going and stay organized. I have never had a yearly planner before so I am knowing it will have many benefits. It will help me stay on track with my goals and understand what is working and what needs improvement.

I brought my 2022 spending spreadsheet up to date. I kept track of my income and expenses all year. Wow, that was quite a bit of work I did voluntarily. In the long run, it was worth it. Totaling up all that is spent in a month and categorizing it is a very good way to keep yourself aware. It is easy to swipe that card or hit the buy now button on Amazon, but it all adds up quickly. It can be shocking to know how often and how much you are spending on eating out or shopping.

Who doesn’t want to have some extra cash on hand or be able to pay some bills or loans. I have tried many budgeting apps, but I have found them too tedious to keep up with when a lot of the automatic categorizing is incorrect. I made myself a Google Sheets spreadsheet to keep track manually. (It’s basically excel, but Google’s version.) I have copied a blank template for you to use yourself! It’s free by the way so don’t be shy.

Find a copy of my template by clicking here.

Simply open the Google document, save as your own and edit to your personal preferences. Add new rows as you have more entries, change the title of the categories and add more pages if that suits you best! Let’s begin the new year with awareness and a little self discovery.
