Well, I wasn’t up at midnight on New Year’s Eve, but I was up past midnight on New Year’s Day.

I was the one to report to any alarms we got during the night and boy was there issues. However, I got great pay for my time. I got a rest period, so I didn’t have to report back to work at the usual hour.

When I got home at 2 am, all my pets were waiting for me in bed. My puppy greeted me at the door so happy to see me. What a joy to have such wonderful pets! I went right to sleep and woke up refreshed and ready for the day.

When I woke up in the morning, it was bright and sunny outside. Which is an unusual sight as we usually see the sunrise at work. Again, all the pets were excited to have me home at an odd hour. Koda, one of our cats, jumped up on the bed and was immediately loving on me and wanting to be pet. Everyone joined me for yoga, wondering why I was on their level (aka the floor). How fun it is to have pets that are fascinated by your every action.

While I ate an early lunch, I watched our kitten Jelly Bean play with one of the flowers on the table. It was just too cute!

When I finally did report back to work, I had a pretty easy day considering what it has been like the past couple weeks. I have a good time with the people I work with.

When I got home from work, I fed the outside animals their dinner. Cali, our horse, was frisky and running around snorting with her tail up. She even came up for some pets before continuing on to eat her dinner. Her schenanigans made the sheep freak out so they were running around with her. One of our sheep, named Poppy, bounces when she runs. It makes me laugh every time she does it. It reminds me of a deer running, just bouncing along.
