Hello Dublin, Ireland

When I woke up, I decided to stay in the room and write about yesterday instead of going downstairs for breakfast. When I did finally come downstairs with all my stuff, the lovely host asked if I wanted anything to eat or coffee. I asked for some coffee. While she prepped that, I put all my luggage in the car. She seemed determined for me to eat something so she made me some toast. I put some butter and black currant jam on it. It was delicious. I asked if it was still okay if I hiked up the hill to see the waterfall she told me able yesterday. She said of course! She offered me carrots to feed the horses, but I told her I had some more with me. I fed them a couple carrots and headed to the top. I search and searched for the waterfall.  When I found it though, it was awesome! That’s a wonderful view of the whole valley from that hill. I got to see her lambs run to their moms and nurse. Others were sleeping so peacefully. What a wonderful way to start the day!

I made it to Dublin, found parking and stopped in at a lovely cafe for lunch. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte, soup of the day and a meatball sub. The soup of the day was tomato and chilly. It was definitely not an American meatball sub, but it was delicious.

I walked maybe half a block to the castle. I bought a guided tour ticket and explored the castle myself first. As always, the castle was spectacular!  From one of the windows in the castle I saw a garden, so after that I found my way there. It was so pretty!

The tour was incredible! Definitely worth waiting around to have a guided tour. We got to go behind the scenes in a lot of buildings, plus it’s always nice to have someone tell you the history instead of reading it. Our tour guide even told us for stories like the Crown Jewels being stolen, never to be found to this day. We got to go inside the Tower Chapel, the oldest standing part of the castle. We went into a building and down some stairs to find another tower that had previously been burned, torn down and buried!

After the tour, I decided not to waste time waiting in lines and head to the zoo. I met a lovely couple, Scott and Sandy, at the Dublin Zoo. I had a wonderful time walking to zoo with them. We both got to show each other things we missed on our way around the zoo. We even got the rare opportunity to see the giraffes run and the snow leopards play with each other.

On my way to the hotel, I drove by Phoenix Park. I was looking for deer as I drove and boy did I find deer!  I turned to go see them and parked in a parking lot they were surrounding. They were just a couple feet from the parking lot. In the distance, there were hundreds of deer running. What a sight! It was incredible!

When I checked into my hotel it was raining. I went downstairs to the bar for food. The food was delicious!
