New Friends at Catalina Island
I had joined a group on Facebook a few months ago who host events for women. It looked like they all had so much fun at their event. So, when they posted that they would be doing a trip to Catalina Island, I was one of the first to book! I had never gone to one of these events, nor did I know anyone going. I met some amazing women and made some great new friends!
We all met at the San Pedro Harbor to catch the boat. There was about 40 woman in the group. It seemed like a lot of them knew each other from other events and were catching up. Almost immediately, I met a couple women who were like me, new to these events and came alone. The three of us boarded the boat together where we met the fourth of our group. We all sat together and chatted the whole ride to the island.
The four of us split off from the main group for most of the trip and created our own fun experiences. It was so interesting being with such diverse women. One lady from our small group was from Australia, one was from Russia and one was from Florida. How interesting that we all ended up here in Southern California meeting each other. I loved getting different perspectives as we have all lived very different lives.
We all had a blast and made it a point to discuss doing things together in the future. I am so grateful that each of us were brave enough to put ourselves out there and come to this event solo so we were able to find one another.
