Helping a Friend
One of my friends was going to drive her parents to the airport, but asked if I would go with her so she didn’t have to sit alone in traffic on the way home. I thought it might be fun, so I said yes. Turns out, I was right!
We had a bit of a rough start getting everyone ready to head to the airport. However, shortly after the ride began, we were telling stories, laughing and even played the alphabet game. We were all pretty competitive! I won the alphabet game. We dropped off her family at the airport and started for home.
We both were starving and I needed a restroom. We found a very nice gas station where we grabbed snacks and drinks to tide us over until we got to our dinner location. Traffic was pretty bad so it took about an hour to get to our dinner destination. My friend told me about the restaurant outside of Knott’s Berry Farm. She said they had a great fried chicken dinner, so that’s where we were going. The snacks filled us up more than we anticipated. The restaurant had about an hour wait time though so that worked out for us! We walked around the shops and bought some desserts at the bakery.
I finally got a text that our table was ready. We ordered some delicious items and indulged in the food! We got the fried chicken, of course, with rolls, soup, salad and mashed potatoes. It was all so good! I was so glad that we chose to go there. We both took home so much food.
For the rest of the drive home, we listened to a true crime podcast called, “Morbid.” It was really good and very entertaining. It made the rest of the drive go by really quickly.
I really enjoyed our time together! I am so grateful to have the free time to do these things with a great friend.
