Sunshine Grows Here

A Rainbow After the Storm

Like I mentioned in a previous post, it has been raining here. It rained many days so there was no drinking coffee with the chickens or running the horses or sunbathing for Pippin. We enjoyed our days indoors and that was lovely. The indoor kittens really enjoyed us being inside so we could love on them.

Well, this morning I woke up to the sun shining into the house! After feeding all the critters as usual, I grabbed my coffee and laptop. Then, headed outside for a morning with all the animals. The berry chicks still run up to me when they see me. That is such a special feeling.

I don’t know why I thought I would get any work done out here, there’s too many fuzzy faces to pay attention to. Tango, one of our outside kitties, wants love. Of course that means stepping on the laptop. Pippin and Bandit are excited to be outside so they come up to tell me; wanting pets to go with their excitement.

After breakfast this morning, Shadow and Donks came out to see me, our horse and donkey. I am not in the usual sitting area so that is strange for the whole farm. Donks came close to inspect. As Donks and Shadow are attached at the hip, he didn’t stay long. Shadow is driven by food, so his main priority is to eat while he is being allowed in the front pasture. It is a special treat for them.

Venture, another cat who prefers the outdoors, also came to get love. He loved on the laptop and then made his nest out of my lap. He kneaded the chair and my slipper and I pet him in my lap. When he was done, he got down and loved on Pippin who is laying on the ground next to my chair.

It is just so nice to be enjoying life outside with the furry faces I love. How lucky I am to have the luxury to work outside surrounded by entertainment, cuteness and love.
