Dinner Invitation

A good friend of mine invited me over for homemade dinner with the family. He was very kind and asked if I was allergic to anything since he was making seafood. I thought that was so thoughtful. When I arrived, I had the warm welcome I always receive from this sweet family.

Dinner was delicious! He had made shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. His Mom made garlic bread which was to die for, I indulged on bread. We gossiped and caught up with each other’s lives. The Mom got a Cricuit for Christmas so we all gathered into the craft room to figure out how to work it. In between frustrations we chatted more about things that had happened since the last we saw each other.

The Dad offered me a snow cone made from their new machine. He made us each a bowl and we poured on the flavored syrups, I chose cherry. The machine had two slots on either side for syrup bottles. They worked really well and looked cute too!

Later the Mom had showed me a box of peppermint cocoa they had found that was really good. I told her that cocoa was my favorite so she made a batch. She added mini marshmallows and served us all mugs of cocoa. We were all having so much fun together, before we knew it I looked and the clock showed 10:45pm. I hugged everyone and thanked them for having me over.

There is nothing like your chosen family. They welcome you in like you are one of the family. I love having fun people to be around.
